About Us

Specialist UK telehealth service for ADHD and autism

CogniScience Clinics provides specialist ADHD and autism assessments for children, young people and adults, together with structured post-diagnostic psychoeducation. We were established to provide careful, evidence-led ADHD and autism assessments within a clear and accountable clinical framework.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to deliver clinically rigorous, ethical, person-centred care that aligns with national best practice and regulatory standards — so people feel clear, supported and confident in the outcome.

Our Approach

We believe neurodevelopmental assessment should be careful, structured and grounded in clinical integrity.

Our service prioritises:

  • Time and thoroughness – Sufficient space for careful history-taking and formulation
  • Multidisciplinary review – Collaborative discussion rather than isolated opinion
  • Clarity and transparency – Clear expectations from first enquiry to outcome
  • Professional accountability – Decisions reached through structured clinical judgement
  • Respect for lived experience – Individual narratives considered alongside diagnostic methodology

We focus on outcomes that are thoughtful, defensible and able to stand up to scrutiny.

Specialist Diagnostic Expertise

Assessments at CogniScience Clinics are delivered by clinicians with dedicated experience in neurodevelopmental diagnosis across children, young people and adults.

Our team is characterised by:

  • Multidisciplinary expertise – Clinicians from nursing, psychology, medical and allied health backgrounds
  • Breadth of experience – Practice across both NHS and independent settings, supporting effective communication with primary care services
  • Specialist diagnostic training – Substantial experience in neurodevelopmental assessment and use of recognised diagnostic tools
  • Structured formulation – Careful history-taking, collaborative discussion and multidisciplinary review
  • Professional judgement – Conclusions reached through shared expertise and a clearly defined assessment process

A Commitment to NICE-Aligned Care

All assessments at CogniScience Clinics are delivered in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance for ADHD and autism.

This includes:

  • Evidence-based assessment – Structured diagnostic processes aligned with NICE guidance
  • Recognised tools – Use of validated and established diagnostic instruments
  • Differential diagnosis – Careful consideration of co-existing conditions and alternative explanations
  • Treatment recommendations – Guidance reflecting NICE recommendations, including psychological, pharmacological and support-based options
  •

Our clinicians are given the time and information needed to reach careful, well-reasoned conclusions. We do not offer abbreviated assessments.

Quality and Patient Experience

CogniScience Clinics places quality and patient experience at the centre of everything we do.

Our core principles are:

  • Clarity – Each stage of the process explained in advance
  • Thoroughness – Structured, evidence-led assessment with sufficient time
  • Accountability – Conclusions reached through clinical judgement that can stand up to scrutiny
  • Respect – Communication that recognises lived experience throughout the journey and the impact of unmet needs and possible diagnosis

Integrity and Transparency

We believe that neurodevelopmental assessment must be conducted with integrity, clarity and professional accountability.

Our commitments include:

  • Clear roles and responsibilities – A structured clinical process integrating expertise and lived experience
  • Transparent process and fees – No hidden stages or unexpected outcomes
  • Ethical decision-making – Diagnoses reached through structured assessment and multidisciplinary formulation
  • Ongoing quality improvement – Regular audit and review informed by patient feedback
  •

We maintain standards that are clinically rigorous, ethically grounded, and open to professional scrutiny.

Clinical Leadership

Angela Rossi, RN (LD), MA

Founder and Clinical Director

Angela Rossi is a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with more than 25 years’ experience working across NHS and independent neurodevelopmental services. Throughout her career she has specialised in the assessment and care of individuals with ADHD and autism, supporting children, young people and adults through structured diagnostic pathways and ongoing care.

Angela has held a number of senior clinical leadership roles, including Head of Service and CQC Registered Manager within large-scale neurodevelopmental diagnostic services. In these positions she has been responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary teams, developing clinical pathways, and ensuring that services meet the highest standards of clinical governance, safety and regulatory compliance.

Her clinical work focuses particularly on individuals whose neurodevelopmental differences may have been recognised later in life. Angela has a special interest in later-recognised and late-diagnosed ADHD and autism, including the ways in which life transitions — such as hormonal changes — can influence the presentation and recognition of neurodevelopmental conditions.

At CogniScience Clinics, Angela serves as Clinical Director and is often the first point of contact for individuals seeking assessment. She leads the screening and care coordination process, helping patients understand the assessment pathway and ensuring they receive clear, supportive guidance from the outset.

Angela works closely with a senior multidisciplinary clinical team, whose expertise contributes to comprehensive assessment formulation and diagnostic decision-making. All assessments are delivered within a structured clinical governance framework designed to ensure that patients receive careful, evidence-based and ethically robust care.
